We used US sliced beef bought from market. The HK$82/pound level is already better than the version at restaurant. To serve 2, half a pound will be enough.
Ingredients and sauce (2 servings with extra sauce)
Half a bulb of sliced onion, 0.5 pound of beef slice (unfrozen), rice, chopped scallion (optional)
5 tbsp of mirin, 5 tbsp of kikkoman shoyu, 2 tsp of sugar
First step, stir fry onion for 30 secs or until it is softened
Second step, add the sauce. Test the taste and adjust the seasoning
Lastly, add the beef and let it boil for 3 mins. Then cover the rice with the cooked beef. Done!

I just made this today!!!! It’s so good and easy to follow 😍 I never know it’s so easy to make the beed bowl. But I’m so sad, I should have follow the same cut for beef 😭 The cheap beef I bought was rather tough with thick tendon.
