We may do this in kitchen if it’s not for a party. But the essence of our sharing this time is grilling in front of friends so as to create fun moments for taking photos and making laughter
Giant freshwater prawns bought from wet market. Just put them directly in fridge before serving
Super long. But the longest part is actually the arms which are not for eating
After rinsing the prawns, we trim them like as shown

We add some rock salt on the prawns and then just let the grille to do its work. We will wait until the meat turns to firmly white. No need to flip the prawns during the whole process
Burn the prawns gently with a blow torch to create more aroma and crispiness. Done!

We have previously written an article about unboxing 2 items of Princess cookware. Now we have used this grille for a number of times, especially when we were to receive guests. I think it’s good timing for us to give it a more detailed review.
We have mentioned the strengths of this grille in the last article which include its simple and elegant appearance, ability to be cleaned easily and non stickiness even no oil is applied.
In this article we would like to share more about our usage experience. First thing to share is the heat control system has an auto off function when it reaches the designated temperature. We used to have no idea about this feature so we just kept turning the heat higher and higher to prevent the auto off so we actually made the grille overheated. Food was burnt on the outside but it’s still raw inside. Turns out that it’s a feature of this grille for preventing overheating. We have to wait until the temperature is lowered before we can manually switch on the heat again.
The absence of thermostat ability was frustrating to us in the beginning. But when we get accustomed to it, it’s still fine to get what we want. For example, when are to grill a thick piece of beef steak, we can first apply high heat to sear the surface for retaining juice inside. Then we apply low heat to gain doneness after the grille has auto off. At last we turn to high heat again for the surface crispiness. It’s possible to achieve finer adjustment of the temperature. In additional, this feature can help reduce the overall heat generation of the cooking process and in turn reduce the smoke amount. For clarity, you may refer to the graph below.

Anther question is about the amount of smoke. Is it really ok to grill at living room without a ventilation van? A simple answer is yes, it’s ok, but we have to use it in a proper way.
Speaking of 「improper」, when we still haven’t figured out the features of the grille, we once used it to grill some miso chicken steak. We simply forced it on after the auto off by turning the heat higher and higher. The grille was overheated which burnt the miso charred and made lots of smoke. After that we leant how to well control the heat and the smoke generated is moderate. Just widely open windows and turn on air purifier, odor will go away fairly quickly.
We also need to talk about its scratch resistance. The grille is made up of aluminium with ceramic coating. We thought ceramic is something we can scratch as hard as we want to. Turns out that it’s not the case. We now found that there are some scratches in one area and we were sad about that for awhile… We should prevent it from scratching by metal/ scouring pad.
We cried for 5 mins for the scratches
All that being said, we think the number 1 advantage of the grille is its presentable appearance. It’s ideal to be used in a party where friends can gather in front of the grille, watch the whole grilling process and take lots of photos. Creating the joy of being together in one place can be that easy!
